1) Where are you located?

- 2230 Flying Club Rd, London, ON N5V 3Z9.

2) What are your hours?

- We are open all 7 days a week from 8am to 6pm. However, the last flight may be earlier depending on the weather and the sunset.

3) Is prior flying experience required for PPL?

- No, you do not require any prior flying experience for PPL. We will help you right from your first flight and go through everything required for PPL along the way.

4) Do I need to be enrolled in an aviation program of a school or a university to get my PPL?

- No, you do not. Anyone can start PPL training who meets the minimum requirements

5) How many minimum flying hours do I require before taking a test?

- As per transport Canada, for PPL you require minimum 45 hours of flying which is broken down as 17 hours dual (with instructor) and 12 hours solo. However, the minimum time required may vary based your own comfort level.

6) What is the industry average PPL flying hours?

- The industry average is 75 hours.

7) How many planes do you currently have?

- We currently have 3 planes in our fleet. Cessna 172, Cessna 152, and Cessna 150.

8) Are the fees required to be paid up front?

- You only need to pay the school kit fees CAD 349+ tax and one time ground school fees $399+ tax. For flying – you will be invoiced after each lesson.

9) What is the total cost of PPL?

- For 45 hours of flying the approximate cost is CAD 13,000 + tax and for 75 hours of flying the approximate cost is CAD 22,500 + tax.

Please note that the total cost may vary based on your individual training requirements.

10) Do I need a medical certificate for my test?

- Yes, you do require a category 3 medical certificate for PPL before your first solo flight. You can book your medical exam with Dr Chepeskie at Thorndale Lions Medical Centre.

11) What are the types of aircraft’s can I fly after getting my PPL?

- You can fly all single pilot non-high-performance single engine land airplanes.

12) Do I need to bring anything with me for the flight lesson?

- We recommend you wear comfortable clothes, shoes, and glasses (if any). Also, you would require your pilot logbook (which will be included in the ground school kit) for keeping a track of your hours for your PPL.

13) Will the flying lesson be canceled because of the weather?

- The safety of our students and staff is our top priority so if the weather is not suitable for flying, we would cancel and reschedule the lesson. We will try out best to give as much notice as possible.

14) How can I book my flying lesson?

- Once you are enrolled in our flight school, we will create your account on Flight Schedule Pro app, and you can book your lessons using the app.

15) What is the duration and cost of each flying lesson?

- Before each flying lesson, the instructor would be doing a 30–60-minute ground briefing and then there will be 1 hour of flying.

However, the pre flight instruction and flying time can vary as per individual requirements. The average cost breakdown is as follows –

Cessna 172 – CAD 199/hr + applicable tax

Cessna 150/152 – CAD 179/hr + applicable tax

Instructor fees – CAD 79/hr + applicable tax

16) What are the timings of ground school?

- We currently have ground school on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6pm to 9pm at our academy. The total ground school as per transport Canada is 40 hours. However, we offer total 45 hours ground school which are broken down into 15 sessions with each session being 3 hours long.

17) Do you offer sightseeing tours too?

- Yes, we do offer sightseeing tours across different locations.
